Parcelhub Tracking: How to Track Your Parcel and Understand Every Delivery Status

CARRIAGE TRACKING – All-in-One Courier Tracking Service

If you’re waiting for a parcel and want to know where it is, Parcelhub tracking gives you a way to check the shipment’s progress through the delivery network. Depending on the service, tracking can show events from receipt and processing through carrier handover and, for fully tracked services, delivery.

For consumer tracking, Parcelhub’s Track My Item portal allows recipients to search using a Unique Parcel Identifier (UPI) or Consignment Number. The results can show normalised tracking events together with carrier comments. At Carriage Tracking, we make it easier to understand these tracking updates, delivery statuses, and what each stage means for your parcel.

How Parcelhub Tracking Works

Parcelhub works with multiple delivery carriers, so tracking information can come from different carrier networks. To make this easier to understand, Parcelhub uses both carrier events and normalised events.

Carrier events are supplied directly by the delivery carrier. Normalised events use a standardised description across carriers, making it easier to understand what stage a parcel has reached.

The exact tracking visibility depends on the service:

  • Fully tracked services can provide tracking from receipt through the carrier network to delivery.
  • Part-tracked services can provide visibility through Parcelhub processing and handover to the final-mile carrier.
  • International shipments may involve an international delivery partner after handover.
  • Tracking updates can vary according to the carrier and service being used.

So, Parcelhub tracking is event-based shipment tracking, rather than necessarily showing a continuous GPS location.

Where to Find Your Parcelhub Tracking Number

If you’re looking for your Parcelhub tracking number, start with the information provided by the retailer or sender.

You may find your tracking reference in:

  • Dispatch confirmation
  • Shipping email
  • Delivery notification
  • Order or shipment documentation
  • Parcel label
  • Retailer’s order-tracking page

Depending on the shipment, Parcelhub tracking can use a UPI or Consignment Number. The consumer Track My Item portal supports searches using either reference.

If you cannot find either reference, contacting the retailer or sender is usually the quickest option. Whistl’s customer guidance specifically directs consumers with questions about their delivery to contact the retailer they purchased from.

Parcelhub Tracking Number, UPI and Consignment Number

There are two important references to understand when using Parcelhub tracking.

What Is a Parcelhub UPI?

UPI stands for Unique Parcel Identifier. In Parcelhub’s consumer tracking documentation, it is typically associated with the item’s barcode and can be used to search for tracking information.

What Is a Parcelhub Consignment Number?

A Consignment Number identifies the shipment or consignment. Parcelhub’s tracking tools support searching by Consignment Number as well as UPI.

UPI vs Consignment Number

Reference

What it is used for

UPI

Identifies an individual parcel/item

Consignment Number

Identifies the relevant consignment/shipment

The important point is that you don’t necessarily need a reference literally labelled “tracking number.” Your Parcelhub tracking reference may be a UPI or Consignment Number.

Parcelhub Tracking Number vs Order Number

Your retailer’s order number and your Parcelhub tracking reference are not necessarily the same thing.

An order number identifies your purchase with the retailer. A Parcelhub UPI or Consignment Number is used within the shipment and delivery process.

If your retailer gives you several numbers, look specifically for the shipping or tracking reference rather than automatically entering the order number.

If you’re unsure which number to use, check the dispatch email or ask the retailer.

How to Track Your Parcelhub Parcel

The simplest way to track a Parcelhub shipment is through the consumer tracking portal.

Find your UPI or Consignment Number

Check your dispatch confirmation, shipping email or information from the retailer.

Open the Track My Item portal

Parcelhub’s consumer Track My Item portal is available through the Parcelhub/Whistl tracking system. The portal supports searches by UPI or Consignment Number.

Enter your tracking reference

Enter the UPI or Consignment Number into the tracking search.

Review the tracking events

The results can show normalised tracking events alongside carrier comments, allowing you to see the latest recorded stage of the delivery.

Check the carrier information

If the parcel has been handed to a downstream delivery carrier, the tracking information may also identify the carrier responsible for the next stage.

What Does Your Parcelhub Tracking Status Mean?

Your Parcelhub tracking status tells you what has happened to the shipment at a particular point in its journey.

Common tracking stages include:

Received

The parcel has been received into the relevant Parcelhub operation.

Processing

The parcel is being processed within the Parcelhub network.

In Transit

The parcel is moving through the delivery network. There may be a period between scans while the shipment travels between facilities or carriers.

Handover

The parcel has been passed to the relevant delivery carrier for the next stage of its journey.

Out for Delivery

The parcel has reached the final delivery stage and is with the carrier for delivery.

Delivery Attempted

A delivery attempt has been recorded, but the parcel was not successfully delivered at that point.

Delivered

The carrier has recorded the parcel as delivered.

Delayed

The shipment has encountered a delay or an event that has affected its expected progress.

Exception

An exception indicates that something has interrupted the normal delivery process. The carrier comment can provide more detail.

Returned

The parcel is being returned rather than continuing toward the original delivery destination.

Actual wording can vary between carriers because Parcelhub receives carrier-specific events and also provides normalised events to create a more consistent tracking experience.

Parcelhub Normalised Events vs Carrier Events

This distinction is useful when reading your Parcelhub tracking updates.

Carrier events are supplied directly by the carrier. Their descriptions can vary from one carrier to another.

Normalised events provide a standardised way of describing carrier activity across different delivery networks.

For example, one carrier might describe an event differently from another, but Parcelhub can use a normalised status to make the underlying delivery stage easier to understand.

This is one reason the tracking page may show both a general status and a more specific carrier comment.

What Does “In Transit, Delayed” Mean?

If your Parcelhub tracking shows an in transit status together with a delay, the parcel is still within the delivery network but its progress has been affected by an event or delay.

It does not automatically mean that the parcel is lost.

  • The latest tracking event.
  • The carrier comment.
  • The time of the last scan.
  • Whether the parcel has recently been handed to another carrier.

Domestic fully tracked services can receive carrier tracking information hourly, but the timing of individual events still depends on the carrier network.

If the tracking remains unchanged for an extended period, contact the retailer or sender so they can investigate the shipment.

Why Is My Parcelhub Tracking Not Updating?

A gap between tracking events does not necessarily mean something is wrong.

Possible reasons include:

  • The parcel is travelling between facilities.
  • A carrier has not supplied the next event yet.
  • The shipment is being handed to another carrier.
  • The service provides tracking only up to a particular stage.
  • An international shipment is moving between delivery networks.
  • There is a delay affecting the shipment.

This is particularly important with part-tracked services. Parcelhub’s InSight service provides visibility when items are received and processed, after which items are handed to Royal Mail in the UK or international delivery partners for onward shipping.

Parcelhub Tracking Stuck for Several Days

If the tracking has not changed for several days, check the latest event and carrier information first.

If there is still no meaningful update, contact the retailer or sender. They can determine whether the shipment needs further investigation.

Parcelhub Says Delivered but My Parcel Hasn’t Arrived

If Parcelhub tracking says delivered but you cannot find the parcel, check the following before reporting it as missing:

  • Ask other members of your household.
  • Check any designated safe place.
  • Check whether a neighbour accepted it.
  • Review the carrier’s delivery comment.
  • Confirm that the delivery address was correct.
  • Check whether proof of delivery is available.

Parcelhub tracking can display carrier information and delivery events, while some services also provide proof of delivery (POD).

If the parcel is still missing, contact the retailer or sender. For consumer delivery questions, Whistl directs members of the public to the retailer from which they purchased the item.

What Should I Do If My Parcelhub Parcel Is Lost?

If your parcel appears to be missing, don’t assume that the tracking page alone can resolve the issue.

  • Check the latest tracking event.
  • Check the carrier comment.
  • Confirm the delivery address.
  • Check for a delivery attempt or handover event.
  • Contact the retailer or sender.

The sender or retailer is normally in the best position to raise a delivery investigation because they arranged the shipment.

Can I Change a Parcelhub Delivery Address?

A delivery address cannot simply be changed through the consumer tracking page in every situation.

If you have entered an incorrect address or need to change the destination, contact the retailer or sender as soon as possible.

Once the shipment has entered the carrier network or been handed over for final-mile delivery, the available options can depend on the carrier and service.

Do not assume that entering a new address into a tracking page will redirect the parcel.

How Long Does Parcelhub Delivery Take?

There is no single Parcelhub parcel delivery time because Parcelhub supports different domestic and international delivery services.

Current Parcelhub/Whistl information includes tracked services with Next Day and 2-day options, while international services offer different delivery speeds. Part-tracked InSight services are designed for visibility through Parcelhub processing and carrier handover rather than the same end-to-end visibility as fully tracked services.

Delivery time can depend on:

  • Selected service
  • Destination
  • Carrier
  • Collection and processing time
  • Handover arrangements
  • Customs requirements
  • Customs requirements
  • Weekends and holidays

For that reason, your tracking events are generally a better indication of the shipment’s current progress than a generic delivery timeframe.

Parcelhub Estimated Delivery Date

An estimated delivery date is different from a guaranteed delivery date.

Your expected arrival can change because of:

  • Carrier delays
  • Handover timing
  • Delivery volume
  • Destination
  • International transportation
  • Customs
  • Service disruptions

If the tracking page provides an estimated delivery date, use it alongside the latest tracking event rather than treating it as an absolute guarantee.

Domestic vs International Parcelhub Tracking

Domestic Parcelhub Tracking

Domestic fully tracked courier services can provide tracking from receipt into the Parcelhub network, through the carrier network and through to delivery. Parcelhub says carrier tracking information for these services is received hourly.

Part-tracked domestic services provide a different level of visibility, with tracking focused on the Parcelhub journey before handover to the final-mile carrier.

International Parcelhub Tracking

International shipments can involve an international delivery partner after Parcelhub processing.

For International InSight, Parcelhub provides visibility when the item is received and processed before it is handed to an international delivery partner for onward shipping.

This means an international parcel may not show the same continuous tracking visibility as a fully tracked domestic shipment.

Parcelhub Fully Tracked vs Part Tracked

The difference matters if you’re trying to understand why one Parcelhub parcel has more tracking events than another.

Parcelhub’s domestic fully tracked services can be tracked through the carrier network to delivery, while InSight part-tracked services are designed to provide visibility through receipt and processing before handover.

What Is Parcelhub InSight Tracking?

Parcelhub InSight is a part-tracked service designed for eCommerce shipments that do not require end-to-end tracking.

It provides visibility when items are:

  • Received by the Parcelhub operation
  • Processed
  • Handed over for final-mile delivery

For UK shipments, items are handed to Royal Mail for final-mile delivery. International InSight shipments are handed to international delivery partners.

This is why an InSight shipment may stop showing Parcelhub tracking events after handover.

What Is International InSight?

International InSight is Parcelhub’s part-tracked service for shipments to the European Union and the rest of the world.

It provides visibility into the Parcelhub stages before the shipment is handed to an international delivery partner for onward transportation.

For international shipments, tracking gaps can therefore occur after handover because the downstream delivery network controls the next tracking events.

Parcelhub Carrier Management Portal

The Carrier Management Portal provides businesses with more detailed tracking and delivery-management functionality.

Parcelhub’s documentation says customers can search at item level using:

  • UPI
  • Consignment Number
  • Additional search fields

They can also view normalised and carrier events, use reporting and download options, and access a live status tracking screen.

The system is designed to help businesses manage deliveries across different carrier networks rather than simply check a single consumer shipment.

Parcelhub Customer Portal

Parcelhub’s customer-facing systems provide businesses with access to customer portal and web despatch functionality. Whistl’s current resource page directs Parcel customers to the customer portal for these services.

The distinction is important:

  • Track My Item: designed for recipients checking shipment status.
  • Customer/Web Despatch tools: designed for Parcelhub customers managing shipments and delivery operations.

Parcelhub Tracking API, Export, SFTP and Tracking Links

Parcelhub also provides tracking options for businesses that want shipment information inside their own systems.

The official documentation identifies:

  • Tracking API
  • Scheduled tracking files
  • SFTP
  • Tracking links

Customers can take tracking information into their own systems through the API or scheduled tracking files.

This can allow businesses to incorporate shipment updates into their own customer communications, portals or internal reporting systems.

Parcelhub Delivery Notifications

Parcelhub provides consumer notifications for part-tracked and fully tracked services.

Notifications can be customised around tracking events, and businesses can use branded email templates with different tracking triggers. Domestic fully tracked carriers can also send email and SMS communications on the day of delivery.

So, if you’re receiving delivery notifications, they may provide useful information without requiring you to repeatedly open the tracking portal.

Parcelhub Proof of Delivery

Proof of delivery (POD) is available on applicable tracked delivery services.

Whistl’s current business parcel information lists tracked services with POD as an available feature.

Whether POD is available for your particular shipment depends on the service and carrier selected by the sender.

Whether POD is available for your particular shipment depends on the service and carrier selected by the sender.

Parcelhub Returns Tracking

Parcelhub and Whistl also support Consumer Returns with tracked return journeys.

Whistl describes its consumer returns service as a fully tracked parcel returns solution. Its returns information says consumers can see tracking events after dropping off a return, including when the return has been delivered, while retailers can maintain visibility of returns in one place.

If you’re tracking a returned purchase, the return shipment may therefore have its own tracking events separate from the original delivery.

Parcelhub Tracking vs Carrier Tracking

Parcelhub tracking and carrier tracking can show related information, but they are not necessarily the same tracking interface.

Parcelhub receives carrier events and can display them through its tracking systems. It also uses normalised events to standardise carrier information across different networks.

Once a shipment reaches the downstream carrier, that carrier may also have its own tracking system.

For example, current Whistl tracking results can identify Royal Mail or Yodel as the carrier and display the carrier’s delivery events.

If you see a carrier name in your tracking result, checking that carrier’s own tracking information may provide additional carrier-specific details where available.

Can I Track Parcelhub on a Third-Party Tracking Website?

Yes, third-party parcel tracking websites may support Parcelhub shipments.

However, a third-party tracking site is not the same thing as Parcelhub’s own tracking portal.

For the most direct information, start with the official Track My Item system. Third-party services can be useful when you are managing shipments from different carriers in one place, but their information depends on the tracking data available to them.

Can I See the Exact Location of My Parcelhub Parcel?

Usually, Parcelhub tracking should not be treated as a continuous GPS tracker.

Tracking is based on recorded delivery events, such as receipt, processing, handover, transit, out-for-delivery and delivery events.

The current Parcelhub documentation describes carrier and normalised tracking events rather than a continuous map showing the parcel’s exact physical location.

Can I Track Multiple Parcelhub Parcels at Once?

If you need to track several shipments, the appropriate method depends on whether you’re a recipient or a Parcelhub customer.

The Carrier Management Portal provides businesses with item-level search and reporting functionality, making it more suitable for managing multiple shipments than the consumer tracking page.

For a single consumer shipment, the Track My Item portal is the simpler option.

How to Contact Parcelhub About a Tracking Problem

If you’re a consumer and your parcel has a problem, contact the retailer or sender first.

Whistl’s current customer guidance specifically says members of the public with questions about an item’s delivery should contact the retailer from which they purchased it. It also directs consumers to the tracking portal to check item status.

If you’re a Parcelhub business customer, the appropriate support route can depend on your account and service.

Frequently Asked Questions About Parcelhub Tracking

Use the Parcelhub Track My Item portal and search using your UPI or Consignment Number. The results can show normalised tracking events and carrier comments.

A Parcelhub tracking reference can be a UPI or Consignment Number, depending on the shipment. Both are supported by the consumer tracking portal.

Check your dispatch email, shipping confirmation, retailer account or other delivery documentation. If you cannot find the reference, contact the retailer or sender.

The Track My Item portal requires a supported tracking reference such as a UPI or Consignment Number. If you don’t have one, contact the sender or retailer.

Tracking can pause between events because of transit, processing, carrier handover or service-specific tracking limitations. This is particularly relevant to part-tracked services.

Parcelhub provides tracking events and, for applicable services, near-real-time carrier information. It should not be interpreted as continuous GPS tracking of the parcel.

It normally means the parcel has entered the final delivery stage and is with the delivery carrier for delivery.

It means the shipment has been passed to the relevant delivery carrier or partner for the next stage of delivery.

It means the carrier has recorded the shipment as delivered. Check the carrier comment and any available proof of delivery if you cannot locate it.

Check your safe place, neighbours, household members, delivery comments and address. If you still cannot find the parcel, contact the retailer or sender.

It depends on the service and destination. Parcelhub supports different tracked, part-tracked and international services, including Next Day and 2-day options.

Don’t assume that the address can be changed through the tracking page. Contact the retailer or sender as quickly as possible because available options depend on the shipment and carrier stage.

For applicable part-tracked UK services, Parcelhub hands items to Royal Mail for final-mile delivery. Subsequent delivery events may therefore come from the downstream carrier.

Yes, applicable Consumer Returns services provide tracked return journeys, allowing consumers and retailers to see return tracking events.
